Pakistan has earned international recognition as 10-year-old Muhammad Abu Bakr, a blind child from Karachi, secured first place in a major Quran recitation competition held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event, organized under Rabita Alam Islami’s “Tahfeez and Qira’at” program, brought together talented participants from several Islamic countries.
Abu Bakr, a student of Madrassa Dar Al-Islah Lil Tahfeez Wal Tajweed, captivated judges with his flawless recitation, correct pronunciation, and strong memorization. Despite being visually impaired, he showcased remarkable confidence and spiritual depth in his performance.
His father, a mosque caretaker, expressed deep pride in his son’s accomplishment. Abu Bakr’s teacher, Qari Islahullah Sadiq, also praised his dedication, calling him a hard-working and gifted child whose achievement will inspire many others across Pakistan.
Adding to the country’s joy, another Pakistani participant, Hafiz Fazl Haleem, secured second place in the same competition. His strong command of tajweed and melodious recitation earned him high praise from judges and attendees. Together, the victories of Abu Bakr and Fazl Haleem highlight Pakistan’s exceptional talent in Quranic education and recitation.
This dual success has been celebrated nationwide, with many describing it as a proud moment for the entire country. The achievements of these young Huffaz show that determination, discipline, and faith can overcome challenges and lead to extraordinary accomplishments.
Both children have become an inspiration, proving that Pakistan continues to shine on international stages of Quranic excellence.
