Pakistan’s Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem added another glittering chapter to his legendary career by clinching gold in the men’s javelin throw at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on November 18, 2025.
With a massive throw of 86.78 metres on his very first attempt, Nadeem left the competition far behind and secured the top spot without needing further throws. Iran’s Hossein Rasouli took silver with 79.26 m, while Turkey’s Emin Öncer claimed bronze at 77.84 m. The victory marks Nadeem’s second major international gold in three months, following his historic Olympic triumph in Paris 2024.
The 28-year-old from Khanewal, who became the first Pakistani individual Olympic gold medallist with a record-breaking 92.97 m throw last August, once again showcased his dominance. Competing just days after minor injury concerns, Nadeem proved his class and mental strength, delighting thousands of Pakistani fans watching live.
Speaking after the win, he dedicated the medal to the nation: “This gold belongs to every Pakistani who prayed for me. Alhamdulillah, Allah has been kind again.”
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Nadeem, calling him “Pakistan’s pride.” Social media exploded with joy under #ArshadNadeem and #GoldForPakistan, with millions celebrating the superstar who continues to raise the country’s flag high.
From a small village to the global stage, Arshad Nadeem’s journey remains an inspiration for every young Pakistani dreamer.
