“India Doesn’t Want Us Doing Netflix Because They Know We Make Better Content”: Farhan Saeed

Pakistani singer and actor Farhan Saeed recently made headlines with a strong statement: “India doesn’t want us doing Netflix because they know we make better content.” Speaking at a media event in Lahore, he praised Pakistan’s artists and creators for their top skills. He said if given the same chances as Indian stars, Pakistani talent would win hearts worldwide with fresh stories and real emotion.

The debate over who produces better content has long been a topic of discussion between the two neighboring countries. Fans on both sides regularly compare their dramas, films, and web series, creating an ongoing competition in the entertainment world.

Farhan addressed India’s ban on Pakistani dramas, stating it was “their loss” because Pakistani dramas “are simply the best in this region”. He explained that Indian audiences watch Pakistani dramas but not Pakistani films “because they are not great at the moment”.

When asked about declining viewership due to the ban, Farhan responded confidently: “We’re 26 crore people who love our dramas. We didn’t start making them for Indian audiences. If they stopped watching, it’s not our loss, it’s theirs. They watched because our content was good”.

Actress Kinza Hashmi, who appeared alongside Farhan in the interview, added that “Indian audiences joined us only a few years ago. It was always the Pakistani audience first”.

Farhan believes Pakistani artists possess exceptional talent and creativity. He argues that if given equal opportunities on international streaming platforms, Pakistani creators could easily impress global audiences with their unique stories, rich culture, and compelling performances.

His bold statement reflects the growing confidence within Pakistan’s entertainment industry. Pakistani dramas have gained massive popularity across South Asia and beyond for their emotional depth, strong storytelling, and relatable characters.
