A fire broke out at a restaurant located in Roshan Towers on Tipu Sultan Road in Karachi, causing panic in the area but no casualties were reported.
According to officials, the fire started inside the restaurant, reportedly from the kitchen area. Thick smoke quickly spread through the building, and flames could be seen coming out of the restaurant, alarming people nearby. Several videos of the incident were shared on social media, showing smoke rising from the premises and people gathering outside.
Fire brigade teams from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, along with Rescue 1122, arrived at the scene soon after receiving the alert. Firefighters worked for some time to control the blaze and stop it from spreading to other parts of the building. Exhaust fans were used to clear the smoke once the fire was brought under control.
All staff members and customers present inside the restaurant were safely evacuated. Authorities confirmed that no injuries or deaths occurred due to the incident. As a precaution, nearby shops were temporarily closed, and traffic on Tipu Sultan Road was briefly affected during the rescue operation.
Officials said the exact cause of the fire would be determined after a detailed investigation. However, an electrical fault or a kitchen-related issue is suspected. The incident has once again raised concerns about fire safety arrangements in commercial buildings across the city.
Normal activities in the area resumed after the fire was extinguished and the situation was declared under control.
