Salman Khan’s iconic film Tere Naam is set for theatrical re-release on February 27, 2026, to commemorate its 23rd anniversary. The announcement has sparked massive excitement among fans eager to experience one of Bollywood’s most intense love stories on the big screen again.
Major cinema chains PVR and INOX have officially announced the limited re-release as part of Valentine’s week celebrations. The move is expected to draw both longtime fans who watched the original 2003 release and younger viewers discovering the film for the first time.
Directed by Satish Kaushik, Tere Naam starred Salman Khan and Bhumika Chawla in her Hindi cinema debut, and was based on a real-life incident of someone who fell in love, lost his mind, and ended up at a mental asylum. It was a remake of the Tamil film Sethu from 1999.
Khan’s portrayal of Radhe Mohan received widespread praise and is widely considered his best performance to date. His distinctive hairstyle and intense acting created an unforgettable character that remains part of popular culture today.
The film’s music became a sensation. Composed by Himesh Reshammiya and Sajid-Wajid, the 12-song soundtrack became a massive hit with songs gaining huge popularity and becoming chartbusters. Tracks like “Tere Naam” and “Tumse Milna” continue appearing in playlists even after two decades.
The re-release is part of a broader Bollywood trend where classic and cult films are being brought back to cinema halls. Alongside Tere Naam, Shah Rukh Khan’s Devdas will return on February 6, and Ajay Devgn’s Yuva on February 20.
Social media exploded with nostalgic reactions as fans promised to book first-day tickets for this emotional journey back to 2003.
