Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has once again reaffirmed his Muslim identity with pride, making powerful statements during his recent appearance on the television show Aap Ki Adalat in June 2025.
Addressing longstanding controversies and accusations about his faith, Khan stated, “Main Muslim hoon aur mujhe bada garv hain ke main Muslim hoon. Main Hindustani hoon aur mujhe bada garv hain ke main Hindustani hoon”(I am a Muslim, and I am very proud to be a Muslim. I am an Indian, and I am equally proud to be an Indian).
The actor’s comments came against the backdrop of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that claimed nine civilian lives in June 2025. Khan strongly condemned terrorism and clarified that such acts have no place in Islam.
He emphasized, “No religion says to kill innocent people. I do not even consider terrorists as Muslims. It is written in Islam that you cannot raise your hand on women, you cannot kill children”.
Throughout his career, Aamir has faced criticism from various quarters, some accusing him of being anti-Hindu for films like PK, while others questioned his commitment to Islam.
Responding to these attacks, the actor clarified that his films were not against any religion but aimed to expose those who exploit religion to deceive people for financial gain.
Khan’s spiritual journey has also included meeting renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel during Umrah, facilitated by Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi.
The actor’s consistent emphasis on both his Muslim and Indian identities demonstrates his belief in harmonious coexistence, making him a voice of moderation in polarized times.
