“Imran Khan Left With Just 15% Vision in His Right Eye”, Reports

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan is facing a serious health crisis while imprisoned in Adiala Jail, with medical reports revealing he has lost 85% of his vision in his right eye due to a severe retinal condition.

According to documents submitted to Pakistan’s Supreme Court, Khan has been left with only 15 percent vision in his right eye due to a condition diagnosed as right central retinal vein occlusion. This blood clot caused severe retinal damage. The condition represents a dramatic deterioration from his previously normal eyesight.

Medical records indicate that Khan had normal 6×6 vision in both eyes until October 2025, when he began experiencing persistent blurred and hazy vision that he repeatedly reported to jail authorities. Despite his complaints, the PTI founder’s condition continued to worsen over the following months.

The severity of Khan’s situation became apparent during recent medical examinations. Khan appeared visibly concerned about the deterioration, with watery eyes throughout meetings, repeatedly using tissues to wipe them.

Central retinal vein occlusion is a serious eye condition that occurs when the main vein carrying blood away from the retina becomes blocked, potentially leading to permanent vision loss if not treated promptly.

The Supreme Court has taken notice of the medical emergency, ordering urgent evaluation by a specialized ophthalmology team before February 16. The court’s intervention came after concerns were raised about inadequate medical facilities at Adiala Jail.
