Veteran Actor Asim Bukhari, Known for ‘Ainak Wala Jin’ Passes Away 

Pakistan’s entertainment industry is in deep grief today. Veteran actor Asim Bukhari, known for his iconic roles in dramas like Sona Chandi and Ainak Wala Jin, has passed away after a prolonged illness.

The 76-year-old had been suffering from kidney and heart ailments for quite some time and had been under treatment at a hospital in Lahore for the past 15 days. His condition worsened, and he went into a coma the night before his passing.

His son Ajlal Bukhari confirmed the news through an Instagram post, also announcing that the funeral prayers would be held after Asr prayers at the family’s residence in Bahria Orchard, Lahore.

Asim Bukhari was one of the most recognized supporting actors in Pakistani television history. With his signature round glasses, he played memorable roles across dramas ranging from comedy to serious storytelling, including Ainak Wala Jin, Janjaal Pura, Pal Bhar Main, Ghanti, Zard Dopeher, and Shehr-e-Murad.

His last project was the 2024 PTV drama serial Tootay Pattay. He also received the Presidential Pride of Performance Award for his outstanding services to Pakistan’s entertainment industry.

Beyond acting, Asim Bukhari was also an accomplished writer and poet, known for his Sufi-inspired poetry and published literary works, making him a truly multi-talented personality.

Tributes have been pouring in from across the industry. Fans and fellow actors are remembering him as a gentle, dedicated, and truly gifted artist whose work will live on forever in the hearts of those who grew up watching him on screen.
