Rain of Blessings! Heavy Rain at Masjid Al-Haram after Tahajud in Last Days of Ramadan

One of the most breathtaking and spiritually moving moments of Ramadan 2026 came when rain began falling over Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah, drenching the Grand Mosque and the holy Kaaba in what many Muslims believe is a sign of mercy from Allah.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as one of pure joy. When the rain began falling during iftar time, very few of the worshippers ran for cover and hardly anyone left their place of prayer. Most of them stood up, raising their hands high, saying Allahu Akbar in unison and making their own supplications while the rain came down in buckets. When the Adhan resonated across the place, worshippers broke their fasts with whispers of thanks and duas while rejoicing over Allah’s gift.

In Islamic belief, rain is considered a mercy and a blessing from Allah. The Quran mentions in Surah Ar-Rum that when Allah causes rain to fall, immediately, people rejoice. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is narrated to have exposed his garment to rainfall, saying it had just recently come from its Lord.

Ramadan 2026, corresponding to 1447 AH, began in Saudi Arabia on February 18, 2026, with the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques releasing a full Taraweeh schedule for Masjid Al-Haram, featuring a rotating roster of renowned imams designed to provide worshippers with a spiritually uplifting experience throughout the holy month.

Rain during Ramadan at the holiest site on earth is considered especially precious. Millions of Muslims watching live broadcasts of the Haram shared the moment on social media with tears of gratitude, calling it a divine blessing for the entire Ummah during the holiest month of the year.
