“I Stopped Going to That Washroom”: Ali Ansari Shares Paranormal Moment from Set of Muamma

Pakistani actor Ali Ansari recently revealed a spine-chilling behind-the-scenes story from the set of his hit drama Muamma, saying he completely avoided a particular washroom on location after a crew member experienced a terrifying paranormal encounter there.

Muamma is a Pakistani psychological thriller TV drama that follows Jahan Ara, an enigmatic owner of an old house who manipulates her tenants harboring hidden traumas. Their peaceful facades begin to crumble as relationships strain under her emotional manipulation, as she watches and influences the lives of the residents by spying on them through a two-sided mirror.

The drama stars Saba Qamar, Ali Ansari, Usman Mukhtar, Shehzad Sheikh, Nabeel Zuberi, Nimra Shahid, and Anoushay Abbasi.

Ali Ansari praised the drama, saying, “It’s a mystery, as the title suggests. Muamma itself says a lot about the drama. If you have seen the teaser, you must have noticed Jahanaara; it intrigues you: who is She, and what does she do? It’s a great story written by Imran Nazir and directed by Shaqielle Khan.”

Muamma uses a “magical mirror” and haunting silences to suggest something paranormal. As Saba Qamar herself noted, “Not every silence hides a jinn; Muamma is mystery layered and human.”

Ali Ansari’s role as Junaid in Muamma places him at the centre of a narrative driven by secrets and unanswered questions, and his performance leans into subtle expressions and layered emotions, making Muamma one of his strongest recent works with a high IMDb rating reflecting its popularity.

The on-set paranormal story added a real-life layer of mystery to an already gripping show, thrilling fans who are hooked on Muamma’s dark, suspenseful atmosphere every week.
