Aag Lagay Basti Mein Earns PKR 86 Crores, Highest in ARY Films’ History

The Pakistani film Aag Lagay Basti Mein has made history at the box office by earning PKR 86 crores, becoming the highest-grossing film in ARY Films’ history. The film was released on March 21, 2026, during the Eid-ul-Fitr festive window, starring Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan.

Directed by Bilal Atif Khan, the story follows a hardworking couple who work as cleaners and decide to turn to petty crime to improve their lives. What starts as small risks soon pulls them into the dangerous world of seasoned criminals, blending dark comedy with crime drama.

The film broke multiple records during its opening weekend. In Pakistan alone, it grossed PKR 16.2 crores, beating the record previously set by Love Guru in 2025. It also broke the all-time opening weekend record previously held by Avengers: Endgame back in 2019.

The film was produced by Big Bang Entertainment in collaboration with ARY Films, and also features comedian Tabish Hashmi and veteran actor Javed Sheikh. Audiences praised Tabish Hashmi’s performance in particular as one of the highlights of the film.

The film witnessed nearly 100% occupancy in prime-time shows across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. 24 Urdu News HD was also widely released in the UAE, the United Kingdom, and the United States, where it attracted large South Asian diaspora audiences. The film is now considered one of the biggest commercial achievements in Pakistani cinema’s history.
