Pakistani actress Komal Aziz Khan has been opening up about her evolution from a rising television star to a focused entrepreneur, revealing the mature perspective that led her to step away from acting at the peak of her career. The actress, known for hit dramas like “Ishq-e-Benaam,” “Bharosa Pyar Tera,” and “Raaz-e-Ulfat,” has been candid about recognizing the limited longevity of acting careers, particularly for women.
In recent interviews, Komal explained that the entertainment industry becomes increasingly challenging for women as they age, with opportunities primarily tied to physical appearance. This realization prompted her to prioritize her clothing brand, “Omal by Komal,” which she co-owns with her sister. The actress emphasized her long-term vision over short-term fame, stating that she saw success in both fields but ultimately had to choose one path.
Komal revealed that her decision came after undergoing therapy to address mental health struggles stemming from family pressure and industry stress. Coming from an educated, conservative family, she faced consistent disapproval for choosing acting after earning her degree in the United States. Her relatives believed she was wasting her potential in showbiz, creating ongoing tension that affected her wellbeing.
The actress described the industry’s environment as unsuitable for educated professionals, citing long working hours, poor hygiene conditions on set, internal politics, and lack of proper meal breaks. She clarified that money was never the issue, as her business was already thriving. Rather, it was the toxic atmosphere that became unbearable.
Now fully focused on entrepreneurship, Komal maintains that she kept her ego balanced despite early success, allowing her to walk away easily. While she hasn’t completely ruled out returning to acting someday, she currently finds greater contentment in her business ventures, free from the competitive and isolating nature she experienced in showbiz.
