“Actors Award Paisay De Kar Letay Hain, Mujhay Islie Nahi Mila Kyun Ke Mere Pass Utne Paisay Nahi Hain”: Zhalay Sarhadi

Pakistani actress Zhalay Sarhadi has made shocking revelations about the award culture in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, claiming that many actors pay money to receive awards.

During her recent appearance on the popular talk show Gup Shab, hosted by Vasay Chaudhary, the actress spoke openly about why she has never won industry awards despite her successful career. She boldly stated that actors even pay money for awards, and she doesn’t have awards because she can’t afford to pay for them.

Zhalay, known for her performances in hit dramas like Uraan, Aks, Madiha Maliha, Digest Writer, and Rang Laaga, explained that the entertainment industry operates on a transactional basis when it comes to awards. She revealed that most awards are sold and then distributed, which is why such honors lack real credibility.

The actress further criticized channel-specific award shows, saying that it’s not credible to give awards only to actors from your own channel. She believes award shows should be conducted collectively across the industry to maintain fairness and transparency.

Zhalay also shared an interesting incident where a nominated actor didn’t receive an award simply because they failed to attend the ceremony, highlighting how flawed the award process has become.

She concluded by saying that she has learned one important lesson: whatever you want in this industry, you should ask for it, even if it’s praise or appreciation. If people can beg for awards, anything can be obtained this way.
