Well-known religious scholar Mufti Popalzai gave a strong and emotional message about Pakistan-Afghanistan relations during a public talk in February 2026. He said: “Afghanistan hamara chota bhai hai or chotay bhai ko 2,4 chapairhein maarna naffrat nahi, islah ki ilamat hota hai.”
Mufti Popalzai explained that Pakistan has always treated Afghanistan like family. He said when a younger brother makes mistakes or goes the wrong way, an elder brother sometimes has to correct him, not out of anger or hate, but out of love and responsibility.
He used the example of family discipline to describe Pakistan’s tough stance on border security, terrorism, and cross-border issues. According to him, Pakistan’s actions are not meant to harm Afghanistan, but to help it stay safe and strong.
The message came at a time when relations between the two countries have been tense because of border clashes, TTP attacks, and refugee issues. Many Pakistanis shared the clip on social media, agreeing that the “younger brother” idea shows care, not enmity. Comments included “Very well said,” sarcasm, and “Pakistan always wants peace with Afghanistan.”
Mufti Popalzai is respected for his clear and honest speeches on religious and national matters. His words reminded people that true brotherhood sometimes includes correction, not just praise. He ended by praying for peace, understanding, and better ties between the two Muslim countries.
This simple but strong message touched many hearts. It shows how faith leaders use family examples to explain difficult issues like border problems and security. In tough times, such words encourage people to think with love and patience instead of anger.
