Another Heartbreak? Pakistan Lost T20 World Cup 2026 Against India

Pakistan cricket fans are nursing another painful defeat after their team lost to India in the T20 World Cup 2026 match played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on February 15, 2026.

India made it 8-1 against Pakistan in T20 World Cup history, thanks to Ishan Kishan’s sensational 77 off 40 balls. India posted a strong total of 175 for 7 in their 20 overs, giving Pakistan a tough target to chase.

The Indian bowling attack destroyed Pakistan’s batting lineup from the start. Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets for just 16 runs, while India rocked Pakistan early in the game, with Pakistan lending the defending champions a helping hand with their shot selection. Pakistan’s batsmen struggled badly against India’s spin attack.

Pakistan needed to chase 176 runs, which would have been the third-highest successful chase at Premadasa Stadium. However, they fell far short of the target. Only Usman Khan showed some fight with the bat, but it wasn’t enough to save the match.

The Indian spinners dominated the game. A total of 18 overs of spin were used, making it the joint-highest in a T20 World Cup innings. Pakistani spinners Saim Ayub, Usman Tariq, Salman Agha, and Mohammad Nawaz bowled well, but poor batting let the team down.

This loss is especially painful for Pakistani fans who had hoped their team would finally break the India jinx at the T20 World Cup. Despite recent good form and better statistics over the last three meetings, Pakistan once again failed to beat their biggest rivals when it mattered most.

The defeat continues Pakistan’s poor record against India in T20 World Cups, with just one win in nine attempts. For millions of heartbroken Pakistani cricket lovers, it’s another case of “so close, yet so far.”
