Pakistani actress Laiba Khan has broken conventional wedding norms with her refreshingly practical approach to bridal fashion, revealing that she rented all her wedding dresses instead of purchasing expensive outfits, a decision motivated by rising inflation and financial wisdom.
Speaking on The Tricky Podcast with Mahnoor Khan, the 29-year-old Kaffara star shared candid financial advice for future brides. “We don’t need to buy expensive dresses. Brides can rent wedding dresses, because we wear the wedding dress only once, so why spend so much money?”, she explained.
The actress, who recently tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony that went viral on social media, emphasized redirecting wedding budgets toward more valuable assets.
“In my opinion, new brides should invest in gold jewellery, because it proves to be a valuable asset in the future. Makeup has become quite expensive these days, but since marriage happens only once, the bride should buy quality makeup”, she advised.
Laiba’s approach resonates with many young Pakistanis struggling with wedding costs amid economic challenges. She explained that gold jewelry remains useful even after marriage and proves to be a valuable asset for the future, while bridal dresses are usually worn only once, making renting a much better option than spending millions of rupees.
Beyond financial tips, Laiba also shared wisdom about marriage readiness. “Marriage is a responsibility. If the mind is not ready, then this decision should not be taken, because after marriage, you have to take responsibility for your husband and children”, she cautioned, warning against succumbing to social pressure.
Her practical stance has earned praise from fans who appreciate her honesty about wedding expenses. By choosing rental dresses while investing in gold and quality makeup, Laiba demonstrated that memorable weddings don’t require financial strain, just smart planning and clear priorities.
