Durefishan Takes a Witty Jab at Dhurandhar Over Ceasefire

Pakistani actress Durefishan Saleem recently made headlines with a sharp and humorous social media comment that quickly went viral. As news broke about a ceasefire between the US and Iran, Durefishan posted a lighthearted jab on Instagram, joking that she “can’t wait for Ranveer Singh to take credit for this in Dhurandhar 3.”

The comment was a playful dig at the Bollywood spy thriller Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, which released in December 2025. The film follows an undercover Indian intelligence agent who infiltrates Karachi’s criminal syndicates and political structures in Pakistan in an effort to dismantle a terror network targeting India.

The movie drew heavily from real-life geopolitical events and was a massive box office hit, grossing over ₹1,350 crore worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025.

Its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, released in March 2026, added further fuel to the fire. The film sparked significant political discourse across India, with various factions using its imagery in election campaigns. Critics also raised concerns about its nationalistic messaging.

Durefishan’s comment resonated widely with Pakistani audiences, who appreciated the humor. It reflected how deeply the Dhurandhar franchise has penetrated popular culture across South Asia, and how social media continues to blur the line between cinema, politics, and everyday conversation.
