Pakistani actress Faiza Hasan has spent over two decades building one of the most respected careers in the drama industry, from Burns Road Ki Neelofar to Nand to Aapa Shamim. But her most recent and most personal milestone has nothing to do with a drama serial. It has to do with her daughter taking her very first steps in front of the camera, and the beautiful, supportive reaction of the man who stands quietly behind the family.
Faiza Hasan’s daughter Jahan Ara recently played her mother’s younger self in the currently airing Hum TV drama Tum Larkay Bhi Na. The idea came when director Yasir Nawaz saw Jahan Ara on set and asked if she would play her mother’s younger character. Jahan Ara, who is trained in theatre, happily agreed, and the result was a debut that left audiences absolutely stunned by how much she looks, sounds and even smiles like her star mother.
Fans watching the drama could not believe their eyes. Comments flooded in saying things like “First I thought it was you in the scene but it was your daughter,” and “I was thinking wow they found a girl who looks exactly like you.”
When Faiza Hasan appeared on Nida Yasir’s Shan-e-Suhoor, she was asked about her husband’s reaction to Jahan Ara entering the entertainment industry. Her answer was warm, honest, and deeply reassuring. She said: “Bachon ne mujhe bachpan se ye kaam kartay dekh hai, to agar wo karna chahein is main koi masla nahi hai.”
Faiza Hasan is married to Mubashir Humayoun, a financial consultant who has always stayed away from the media spotlight. The couple married in 2007 and have two children, daughter Jahan Ara and son Suleman Humayoun.
Faiza Hasan is known not just for her acting but also for her thoughtful and grounded approach to parenting. She has spoken openly about raising children in today’s world, emphasising the importance of open communication, financial independence and building a strong personal foundation before making life’s big decisions.
What makes this story so refreshing is the complete absence of pressure or control. Jahan Ara was not pushed into acting, she was simply invited, and she chose to say yes. Her father, a man who lives entirely outside the spotlight, supported that choice with grace.
