Golmaal 5 Officially Announced With Akshay Kumar Joining The Ensemble Cast Led By Ajay Devgan

Bollywood fans have a massive reason to celebrate. Director Rohit Shetty has officially announced Golmaal 5, and this time the comedy franchise is bigger than ever before with a surprise addition to the cast, Akshay Kumar.

The film was officially announced on March 14, 2026, coinciding with Rohit Shetty’s 52nd birthday, with filming already underway at Film City, Mumbai.

The announcement came through a special video featuring Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, and Tusshar Kapoor, with the actors humorously hinting at the new additions. Sharman Joshi also made a surprise return as Laxman Sharma, nearly two decades after the original Golmaal: Fun Unlimited in 2006.

The biggest surprise came when Akshay Kumar appeared in a striking bald look, reportedly playing the film’s main antagonist, a quirky villain character described as a mysterious “tantrik.”

Ajay Devgn playfully joked in the video that Akshay never leaves a successful franchise, while reports suggest their characters will share a fun Tom and Jerry-style rivalry throughout the film.

Akshay Kumar agreed to join after Rohit Shetty personally narrated the script, and has been allotted 18 days for shooting.

The story is said to revolve around a chaotic treasure hunt, with additional cast members including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Priyamani, and Triptii Dimri.

No official release date has been announced yet, but Golmaal 5 is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Bollywood comedies in recent memory.
