Hamza Ali Abbasi’s Sister Dr. Fazeela Abbasi Granted Interim Bail in Money Laundering Case

One of the biggest legal stories in Pakistan’s entertainment world recently involves Dr. Fazeela Abbasi, the prominent dermatologist and sister of actor Hamza Ali Abbasi. After a turbulent few weeks in court, she has been granted interim bail in a high-profile money laundering case.

The Islamabad High Court restored interim bail for Dr. Fazeela Abbasi in the money laundering case. Justice Muhammad Azam Khan granted bail against a surety of Rs100,000 and directed Dr. Fazeela Abbasi to approach the trial court for further proceedings.

The Federal Investigation Agency registered two separate cases against her, on charges of money laundering and operating an unregistered clinic. Investigators claimed to have evidence of money laundering via hawala and hundi channels.

Authorities revealed that 22 bank accounts tied to Dr. Abbasi indicated a cumulative turnover of Rs25 billion. Her declared annual income ranged between Rs400,000 and Rs600,000, increasing suspicions regarding the scale of financial activity.

Hamza Ali Abbasi issued a clarification on his official Instagram, stating he has no connection to the case and is not under investigation. “I am not under any investigation by any agency, nor am I part of this case in any capacity,” he said.

Abbasi and his sister are both prominent public figures in Pakistan, with the actor regarded as one of the country’s best-known stars, while Dr. Fazeela is considered a leading name in aesthetic medicine. The case continues, and further legal proceedings are expected in the coming weeks.
