One of Pakistan’s most beloved actresses, Hania Aamir, has never shied away from speaking her truth. In a deeply personal revelation, she shared how she left her studies behind, not out of choice, but out of necessity, because she needed to support her family financially.
Hania was born on 12 February 1997 in Rawalpindi. Her parents separated early in her life, and she was raised by a single mother. She has spoken publicly about facing emotional trauma and financial difficulties during her childhood. She enrolled at the Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology (FAST-NUCES), where she was studying when she auditioned for her debut film Janaan (2016). She later dropped out of college, citing her need to earn money to financially support her family.
Hania Aamir said, “Maybe I haven’t talked about my studies for a reason. I am a college dropout. I was a good student but I started acting. I started getting money, but I also needed money at that time. I had to run my house. I was the breadwinner of my family. I came into acting and luckily I knew acting, and that’s how it all happened.”
Today, Hania Aamir has received three Hum Awards and a Lux Style Award, and on Instagram, she is the most-followed Pakistani woman.
Her story is a powerful reminder that behind every celebrity success is often a personal sacrifice made quietly, out of love and responsibility.
