Iffat Omar Strongly Supports Meesha Shafi After Court Verdict, Says “It Happened To Me Too”

Senior Pakistani actress and television host Iffat Omar has once again come out in strong support of singer Meesha Shafi after the Lahore court ordered her to pay Rs5 million in damages to Ali Zafar in the long-running defamation case.

In a powerful social media statement, Iffat Omar said she believed Meesha Shafi “hundred percent again and again.” She explained her strong stand by revealing that she had also gone through a similar experience.

She challenged critics by writing, “Now sue me and prove my foreign agenda.” She added that she is ready to open all her bank accounts to prove there was no external funding or agenda behind her support.

Iffat Omar was a key character witness for Meesha Shafi in the case that started in 2018. She said supporters of Meesha were silenced, pressured, and even faced criminal cases. Many were accused of running a “foreign agenda” and receiving dollars.

The actress called the verdict disappointing and said it sends a wrong message that no woman will be believed in the future. She described it as “a man’s world” where women who speak up face heavy consequences.

Her bold statement has restarted debate on the Meesha Shafi vs Ali Zafar case and the challenges faced by women who raise their voice against harassment in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
