Former Pakistan cricketer Imad Wasim has announced his separation from wife Sannia Ashfaq, ending their six-year marriage amid claims of unresolved conflicts and allegations of infidelity. The 36-year-old all-rounder shared the news through a carefully worded statement on Instagram on December 28, 2025, just weeks after retiring from international cricket.
In his public statement, Imad explained that the decision came after prolonged deliberation over differences that persisted for several years. He requested the public to respect their privacy, avoid sharing old photographs of the couple, and refrain from referring to Sannia as his wife going forward. The cricketer emphasized his commitment to his children, stating he would continue to fulfill his responsibilities as their father with full care and dedication.
However, the announcement was followed by a contrasting statement from Sannia Ashfaq, who presented a different account of the separation. Writing from what she described as deep emotional pain, Sannia revealed she is a mother of three children, including a five-month-old infant who has not yet been held by his father. She alleged that the marriage ended due to the involvement of a third party who intended to marry her husband, claiming she endured emotional torment, mistreatment, and abandonment while pregnant.
The couple married in August 2019 at Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad. Their first child, a daughter, was born in 2021, followed by a son in 2022, and their youngest child arrived just five months ago. Prior to the divorce announcement, rumors had circulated on social media about Imad’s alleged relationship with influencer Naila Raja, though she denied these claims as false.
Imad warned that any attempts to spread misinformation or defame individuals involved would be addressed through legal channels. The announcement comes shortly after his December 2024 retirement from international cricket, where he represented Pakistan in 55 ODIs and 75 T20Is.
