Pakistani actress Mah e Nur Haider has finally spoken out about one of the most controversial cases in Pakistani showbiz history, the Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi dispute, and her statement has sparked a major conversation online.
Mah e Nur, who worked with Ali Zafar on the film Teefa in Trouble, had stayed silent for a long time to avoid being seen as biased. However, she has now broken her silence and shared her personal perspective on the matter.
In her statement, she revealed that during filming, Ali Zafar always made the entire crew feel safe and treated everyone like family. She described the working environment as professional and respectful throughout their time together.
But the most powerful part of her statement was about what happened after the controversy began. She described how the backlash was a form of harassment and bullying, not just towards Ali Zafar, but towards everyone who was part of the project.
She shared that at film premieres, protesters gathered with offensive slogans, and Ali Zafar’s wife, mother, and other women from the crew had to be brought in through back doors out of fear for their safety. She said no one ever talks about that side of the story.
The timing of her statement is significant. A Lahore sessions court recently ruled in favour of Ali Zafar in his eight-year defamation case against Meesha Shafi, ordering her to pay Rs 5 million in damages. Meesha Shafi’s legal team has already signalled its intent to challenge the decision in the High Court.
This case continues to divide Pakistan, raising deep questions about justice, truth, and how public pressure can affect everyone involved.
