Internet singing sensation Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has made a bold request to be included as a judge on Pakistan Idol, claiming he has won the hearts of millions across the world. His statement comes after the popular singing competition returned to television after 12 years, sparking debates about who should sit on the judging panel.
Pakistan Idol Season 2 returned in October 2025 with a star-studded panel of judges, including actor Fawad Khan, qawwali legend Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, singer Zeb Bangash, and musician Bilal Maqsood. The show has been airing on seven Pakistani TV channels and streaming worldwide on the Begin platform.
Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, whose real name is Kashif Rana, believes he deserves a spot on the judging panel next season. He claims to have become the beloved of billions and trillions of hearts worldwide through his unique singing style and entertaining videos that regularly go viral on social media.
The internet personality is known for his unconventional singing videos, including his famous songs like “Bado Badi” and special anthem versions for PSL and ICC World Cup. His videos attract millions of views, making him one of Pakistan’s most recognized online entertainers.
Interestingly, when Pakistan Idol Season 2 was announced, many social media users jokingly suggested that Chahat Fateh Ali Khan was also eligible for a judge’s seat, questioning the singing abilities of some current judges. Some fans even said sarcastically that he would be a better choice than certain panel members.
Chahat has been expanding his entertainment career beyond social media. He recently launched a full acting and music academy in the United Kingdom and announced plans to release a feature-length film that will screen in 50 Pakistani cinemas by the end of 2025.
Whether Pakistan Idol producers will consider his request remains to be seen, but Chahat’s growing popularity and massive social media following cannot be ignored in today’s digital entertainment world.
