North Korea F!res 10 Ball!stic M!ssiles During US-South Korea Military Drills

As if the world did not have enough conflict to worry about already, North Korea has added a fresh shock to an already deeply unstable global situation. On Saturday, March 14, 2026, Pyongyang fired approximately ten ballistic missiles into the sea, a dramatic show of force timed deliberately to coincide with ongoing US and South Korea military exercises.

North Korea fired more than 10 ballistic missiles into the sea on Saturday, South Korea’s military confirmed, as US and South Korean forces conducted military drills and US President Donald Trump renewed overtures towards Pyongyang for dialogue.

The ballistic missiles were launched from the Sunan area near the North Korean capital, Pyongyang at around 1:20 pm local time, flying roughly 350 kilometres before landing in the sea. South Korean and US authorities began a detailed analysis of the missiles’ specifications.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed the incident marks the third time North Korea has fired ballistic missiles since the start of the year. South Korean, Japanese and US forces immediately moved to a heightened surveillance posture against any additional launches.

The move is also widely seen as a show-of-force signal that comes amid the escalating war in the Middle East, and reports that the US has redeployed some air-defence assets from South Korea to support operations against Iran.

North Korea had warned earlier in the week of “terrible consequences” over the ongoing South Korea-US military drills, and they followed through.

With the Middle East already on fire and Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions rising, North Korea’s ten missiles fired in a single day remind the world that multiple dangerous flashpoints are burning simultaneously. The planet has rarely felt this unstable in modern times.
