Pakistani cinema is getting ready for something brand new. Fahad Mustafa is returning to the big screen this Eid al-Adha with Zombeid, a zombie horror film that marks a genre shift for Pakistani mainstream cinema. This is the first time Pakistan will produce a zombie-themed thriller, and fans are already very excited.
The film also marks the actor’s on-screen reunion with Mehwish Hayat, eight years after Load Wedding. The two popular stars were last seen together in 2018, and their return as a pair is expected to attract a large audience.
In his post, Fahad Mustafa announced the release of Pakistan’s first-ever zombie thriller film, titled Zombeid, and shared that a teaser will soon be released. He captioned the announcement: “This Eid… Sacrifice or Survive?”
Following the success of Load Wedding, the duo has once again teamed up with director Nabeel Qureshi. Mustafa and Hayat have previously worked together with Qureshi on Na Maloom Afraad and Actor in Law, making Zombeid their fourth collaboration. The filmmaker has reunited with frequent collaborator Fizza Ali Meerza for the project.
Fan reactions have been very warm. Comments flooded in with people saying they cannot wait and praising Fahad Mustafa for constantly pushing Pakistani cinema into new territory. Zombeid is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about releases of 2026.
