What began as Pakistan’s most celebrated social media wedding has ended in one of its most heartbreaking public divorces. On March 10, 2026, in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan, Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt officially sent legal divorce papers to his wife Emaan Fatima, ending a marriage that barely lasted 15 months.
The divorce notice confirmed that Rajab Ali Butt, resident of Park View Society Lahore, announced Talaq to his wife Iman Asad under the provisions of the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961. The notice stated that the couple initially lived together peacefully, but later developed big differences and incompatibility, leading to frequent disputes. Family members and friends attempted reconciliation, but their efforts remained unsuccessful.
Emaan Fatima shared a photo of the divorce papers on her Instagram story, placing her infant son Kivan’s hand on the documents while posting the image, a heartbreaking visual that immediately went viral across all platforms.
Responding with dignity and pain, Emaan wrote that she stayed silent to save the relationship, but after false allegations in a podcast and now the legal notice, she could only ask one question, what is the fault of her and her son in all of this?
Rajab had earlier stated clearly during a podcast that he is done with the marriage and will not make further efforts, adding that he cannot maintain a relationship built on hypocrisy. He also declared that Kiwan Sultan Butt is and always will be his son, and nobody can prevent him from seeing his child.
The controversy deepened further when an alleged private chat between Rajab and another woman went viral, while earlier accusations from Emaan’s brother about betrayal during her pregnancy continued circulating across social media platforms.
