Rakhi Sawant Has Performed Umrah Not Once, but Six Times

Bollywood’s most controversial entertainer, Rakhi Sawant, has revealed a deeply spiritual side that many might find surprising. In a candid conversation on Paras Chhabra’s podcast, the actress disclosed that she has performed the sacred Islamic pilgrimage of Umrah six times, finding profound peace and connection with her faith.

Rakhi, who converted to Islam in 2022 and adopted the name Fatima during her marriage to Adil Khan Durrani, has consistently spoken about how the religion brought emotional healing to her turbulent life. During the podcast, she shared her heartfelt experience of standing before the Kaaba, pouring out her deepest concerns about ongoing legal troubles, career challenges, visa aspirations, and acceptance in the film industry.

The actress, who performs her five daily prayers by following online videos, describes her spiritual practice as a source of genuine tranquility. Her journey hasn’t been without obstacles; initially, she faced difficulties obtaining certification for Umrah due to her Hindu background, despite having recited the Kalma and regularly observing Islamic practices, including fasting during Ramadan.

Beyond her personal spiritual journey, Rakhi has demonstrated remarkable generosity by sponsoring Umrah for twenty Muslims, including ten Indians and ten Pakistanis. She personally distributed pilgrimage robes and provided meals to the pilgrims before their departure to Saudi Arabia, calling it an act of devotion before Ramadan.

Her multiple Umrah visits have occurred throughout 2023, 2024, and 2025, with her most recent pilgrimage in September 2025 from her current residence in Dubai. While her faith journey has attracted both praise and skepticism from the public, Rakhi remains steadfast in her spiritual commitment, stating that, regardless of her failed marriage, Islam continues to be an integral part of her life.
