“Release Imran Khan, Have Some Mercy”: Yumna Zaidi

Popular Pakistani actress Yumna Zaidi added her voice to growing concerns about former Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s health by posting a direct appeal on her Instagram stories.

She wrote: “Release Imran Khan Sahab, it’s a severe need of the time. Have some mercy.” The simple but powerful message quickly spread across social media, with fans and pages reposting it widely.

Yumna’s plea came amid fresh reports on Imran Khan’s deteriorating eyesight. His court-appointed lawyer informed the Supreme Court that Khan now has only about 15% vision in his right eye due to a blood clot and persistent blurred vision that started after October 2025.

The legal team blames prolonged neglect by authorities at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where Khan has been detained since August 2023. They have demanded his transfer to a hospital like Shifa International for proper treatment by his chosen doctors.

Known for her hit dramas like Inhumans, Dil Na Umeed To Nahi, and Tere Bin, Yumna has a massive following and often shares thoughtful messages on social issues. Her post follows similar expressions of sympathy from other celebrities, including “get well soon” wishes she shared earlier for Khan. It highlights rising public worry over his condition in custody.

Reactions poured in online, many praised her courage for speaking up, with comments like “Thank you for using your voice” and “Humanity first.” Others debated politics, but the focus remained on health and mercy. Yumna did not elaborate further, but her words resonated deeply, reminding people that even in divided times, calls for compassion can unite voices.

As legal battles and health updates continue, such statements from public figures keep the conversation alive about justice, humanity, and the need for fair treatment.
